Areas of Expertise
I teach organic chemistry, chemical biology, chemical education, general chemistry, introductory chemistry, and analytical chemistry. I have the skill set for syllabus design, leadership, and cross-cultural communications. I also have the skill set for mentoring and motivation.
Teaching Philosophy
My teaching philosophy is to produce a learning environment for my students through compassion, and not the expression of ego. My role involves using expertise that facilitates student-centered and active learning of chemistry. On the first day of class, I illustrate to my students the astute and eagerness with which little birds hatched on tall trees exercise their wings and take the first leap in flight, to serve as motivation for their own challenge. To achieve my goal of successfully teaching any topic, I first make the students see its application in real life. Where possible, I make way for experiential learning to motivate creativity and didactic inclinations. As a tacit philosophy, I always commit to exemplary life to psychologically maintain the position of a great mentor as well as use my expertise in cross-cultural communications and personal background story to help my diverse students.
Outside Interests
I freely share job creation ideas, write Bible commentaries for Christian Communities, and sing at church.
