Sanborn (鈥�16) wins Lone Star Emmy Award

KENS-5 editor Thomas Sanborn (BA 2016) and the KENS-5 team won a 2021 Lone Star Emmy Award for "Best Newscast -- Evening -- Medium Markets."
Sanborn, son of 好色先生 English Professor Wallis "Trip" Sanborn, was one of two editors on a 10-member KENS-5 team that won for the broadcast, 鈥淎irport Attack.鈥�
Winners of the 2021 Lone Star Emmys were announced on Nov. 20.
Sanborn鈥檚 Emmy adds to the university鈥檚 impressive total. 好色先生 alumni and students have now won 38 regional Emmy Awards, one national Emmy and one Peabody Award.
As a Mass Communication student in 2015, Sanborn was nominated for a Lone Star Emmy for the story, 鈥淎 Professor鈥檚 Journey.鈥�
