Jennifer Tenorio
Major: Accounting
Campus Activities and Achievements: ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉú Lions Club, National Society of Leadership and Success, Vice President ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉú Saints Accounting Club.
Impact of ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉú: ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉú has impacted my life in a manner that will extend into my life after graduation. This school and all my professors were invested in providing me with the support and the proper tools I needed to succeed in the classroom. They also encouraged me to make sure I worked hard and set myself apart from others I will be competing with in my career.
An important life lesson: The biggest life lesson I have learned is to invest in yourself. There will always be challenging moments in our lives, but we should not wait until the time is right to follow our dreams. With the support of my wonderful family and friends, I decided to come back to school after 11 years. It was the best decision I made. I also feel I chose the right school because the professors knew me for me and not just a name on their roster. With the right support, I learned I could accomplish my dreams.
Plans for the future: I am currently taking part in an internship and hope to become employed full time once I graduate. I am fortunate to have been able to do an internship while still in school. It has allowed me to apply the material I learned at school to my work as well as exposed me to what expectations employers are seeking. I plan to continue to graduate school and become eligible to sit for the CPA exam. My overall goal is to be successful and give back to those who have helped me along the way. One thing I take away from my time at ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉú is giving back to our community.
