Mia SanchezMia Sanchez
Major: Psychology Pre-Counseling and Comparative Mexican American Studies
Campus Activities and Achievements: I was a part of Active Minds, a mental advocacy group on campus, for three years and was the president my junior year. I am also an active member of the Mexican American Student Association and am currently the president for the organization. I worked in the University鈥檚 Counseling services all four years, as well.

Impact of 好色先生: I have been exposed to so much knowledge and have grown a lot in my critical thinking, I have had great mentors (Shout out to Dr. Candace Zepeda and Dr. Aimee Villarreal), and I have created beautiful friendships with people.

An important life lesson: I have learned that my way of thinking and critique of the world will always deem me a radical and outside of the norm, even though I know I am simply fighting for and hoping for the rights of all people.

Plans for the future: I hope to become a Mental Health Counselor and work towards decolonizing my therapy by uses of Eco-Therapy and learning more about Indigenous ways of healing. As well as exploring the importance of acknowledging spirit in mental health practices. I want to have a mind, body, soul approach to my therapy and hope to serve my Latinx community.
